Jess Hitchcock releases new single 'Homeward Bound'

Jess Hitchcock has released her new single, ‘Homeward Bound’, the third taste from her upcoming second album Unbreakable.

An upbeat, country-pop track with an insistent beat that becomes happily lodged in your mind, it tells of the joy of ‘going home’ - wherever that may be - when you have been away for too long. Even if some of the memories are bad, it is only place you feel completely a part of, particularly when recovering from trauma. “Just find a spot where you won’t miss him at all” Hitchcock sings in her stunning voice that perfectly portrays the sense of relief and healing a journey to home can bring.

"Home can be anywhere we make it and for me it's a specific place on the east coast of Australia where I grew up,” Hitchcock says. “It's where many memories were made, not all good ones, but each time I return I reclaim a bit more of the places I love.”

Also out now is the video for ‘Homeward Bound', filmed at Tiny Stays, Tooborac, Taungurung and Wurundjeri Country, Victoria by director Ilsa Wynne-Hoelscher Kidd, with Hitchcock’s dress handmade by Bangarra collaborator Tessa Thames.

‘Homeward Bound’ follows on from the singles ‘I Don’t Have The Heart’ and ‘On My Own’, and all three will feature on Hitchcock’s second album Unbreakable which is due to be released on June 30.

A supremely talented performer, alongside her recording career, Hitchcock has performed with the Bangarra Dance Theatre and multiple opera companies including the Victorian Opera, Opera Queensland and Short Black Opera. With a magnetic voice, and music that is always so beautifully constructed and full of the feels, Hitchcock is an artist you will quickly, and irreversibly, fall in love with.
