JACOTÉNE returns with new single 'Tell Me (I Heard It From My Father)'

Rising Australian soul-pop artist JACOTÉNE today returns with her new single 'Tell Me (I Heard It From My Father)', her first new music of 2026.

An anthemic, neo-soul-pop song that JACOTÉNE says is ‘for the one who wants to be appreciated’, she sings of the piercing pain of desperately wanting to be loved. ‘I’m every thing you ever wanted / I want your loving / Don’t keep it from me / Try to feel my pain / And love me if you can,’ she sings.

A theatrical, emotive track, it builds with intensity as the song progresses, from a semi-acoustic beginning into a full bodied song with a brass section and gorgeous, multi-layered vocal lines.

The single follows last year’s ‘Leave Me (Please Don’t Leave Me)’ and ‘Why’d You Do That?’, a song that earned JACOTÉNE her first ever ARIA Award nomination. These three singles form the next chapter in her career after the release of her debut EP Untitled (Read My Mind) in June last year.
