Australia’s Kita Alexander today released the single ‘Sentimental Letter’, the latest taste of her upcoming second album RAGE.

A lush, smooth indie-alt-pop song with 1960s style group backing vocals, Alexander sings of a relationship where she is being taking for granted and makes a choice to no longer go along with it: ‘Make your own money, make your own fame / When you come down, I don't want to get blamed…Come back when you're better, write a sentimental letter / When you get your shit together, you can get with me.”

“We carry generational trauma from our ancestors,” Alexander says. “As women we’re taught to be quiet, accept what we’ve got and that it’s good enough. But we deserve more than that. In my workplace, in my friend circle, I wanna be surrounded by people who lift each other up and are motivated to be the best versions of ourselves. I don’t necessarily have my shit together but I’m down for the work and want to be surrounded by people who are also trying to become the best versions of themselves. I think it’s important to put songs out into the world that help people critically think about their standards or their behaviours. I think a lot of people could use a message like this.”

‘Sentimental Letter’ follows previous singles ‘Rage’, ‘The Good House’ and ‘Tell My Friends’, featuring Danish singer-songwriter Christopher. All songs feature on Alexander’s second studio album RAGE which is due for release on 26 June. The album is a reclamation of self, with Alexander drawing on a lifetime of silencing her feelings and instincts to fit the societal mould expected of women, shedding all expectations of being a ‘good girl’ and embracing her rage.

“Rage has been the catalyst of positive change in my life over the last couple of years,” Alexander says. “The album is about an emotion I’ve always had but never understood. It’s me looking at it and embracing it as a new friend and realising that I don’t have to shut it down or avoid looking at it. Rage has helped me find what truly matters to me and to change my life in ways that work for me.”

To celebrate the release of RAGE, Alexander will be touring across Australia, the UK and Europe in September and October, with tickets on sale now.

RAGE arrives at a high point in Alexander’s career. Two years ago, her debut album Young In Love hit number three on the Australian album chart, followed by a sold out national tour and a support slot for superstar Dua Lipa on her 2025 Australian tour. Her 500 million global streams is also backed up by critical acclaim, with Alexander earning five ARIA Award nominations across the past two ceremonies, including Best Pop Release for ‘Press Pause’ in 2025.

Alexander has always created music that is deeply emotive and warm, and with RAGE she is bringing her skill for storytelling to the next level. Based on what she has released so far, it promises to be a moving, challenging, brutally honest, empowering and important collection of music.
