Tate McRae releases new single 'Exes' ahead of second album 'Think Later'

Canadian superstar Tate McRae has returned with new single ‘exes’, the second release from her upcoming second album Think Later, due for release on December 8.

Written by McRae with Ryan Tedder and Tyler Spry (Sabrina Carpenter, 5S0S, Peking Duk), and produced by Tedder and Spry, ‘exes’ is a snappy, R&B-pop fusion with lyrics that are a bittersweet kiss off to McRae’s exes. While she references the exes that treated her bad - “Kisses to my exes who don't give a shit about me” - the core of the song is McRae owning her heartbreaker ways. “Kisses to my exes / I know that I did you dirty /
Little messed up, little selfish / We ain't married, I ain't thirty”. It ends on a beautifully tender note though, as McRae admits every single one of her exes will continue to hold a piece of her heart: “But I still got your number and your necklace, kisses to my exes”

The single follows on from ‘greedy’, which has become McRae’s biggest global hit to date, hitting number 2 in Australia , number 3 in the UK and number 11 in the US. In the process it has transformed McRae from breakthrough new talent to one of music’s biggest contemporary artists. Both ‘greedy’ and ‘exes’ will feature on McRae’s second studio album, Think Later, which follows her debut album, I Used To Think I Could Fly, released last year, which was a global top 10 smash.

To celebrate the release of Think Later, McRae will be embarking on the Think Later World Tour next year, including seven shows in Australia and New Zealand, starting in Perth on 8 November 2024 and finishing in Wellington on 21 November 2024. Tickets are available now here.
