Rising star Gypsy Lee releases new single 'SNITCHES'

Rising indie-pop star Gypsy Lee today releases her new single ‘SNITCHES’, her first release since she dropped her debut EP Pretty In The Dark in 2024.
Written with Gypsy’s long term collaborator and producer Andrew Lowden (THRONES), ‘SNITCHES’ is the first release from her upcoming EP. Created without instruments and featuring only vocals from Gypsy and percussive elements such as hands claps and door slams, it is a brilliantly produced song with a sharp beat that quickly becomes intoxicating.
Inspired by Gypsy’s first heartbreak, the cutting lyrics are full of attitude that showcase Gypsy’s talent for lyricism and wordplay as she bites back with no remorse at the person who hurt her. ‘If snitches get stitches then you better get your needle and thread…Are you sorry, or just busted?’
“I was less upset by the loss of the person, more the actions that ended the relationship,” Gypsy says. “There’s an anthemic quality to the song - not just for me, but perhaps for women everywhere - a call out of the bullshit some boys put them through. I’m not a blow up doll, a Barbie or your property. I am completely myself and I’m not afraid to call you out - or snitch.”
Also out today are the official visuals for ‘SNITCHES’ directed by Glen Wilk.
“I wanted a video that captured everything I am, everything I’m not and what I could be,” Gypsy says. “I can be fun, I can be messy, I can be ugly, I can be your dream girl. What I won’t be, however, is silent.”
Releasing music for just two years, Gypsy’s first releases leant into gentle, heartfelt indie pop and now ‘SNITCHES’ brings a new soundscape into her portfolio as she moves into her next musical chapter. With a drop dead, stunning voice and a talent for writing with real depth and nuance, Gypsy is quickly proving she is a monumental talent with the ability to make major waves in the music industry.
