PREMIERE: Amber Stone releases new single 'Surrender'
Queensland born and raised Amber Stone has been creating music since she was 16 and today her new single ‘Surrender’ premieres exclusively on Women In Pop.
The single is Stone’s first release in three years and also sees her sound evolve from the country infused acoustic guitar pop of her previous single ‘Being Yours’ into smooth, stripped back electropop.
“‘Surrender’ is about a prolonged mutual attraction where the timing never seems to be right,” Stone says of the track. “You are wanting to start a relationship and know that they are holding back and you’re asking them to take a chance with you and surrender to the feeling.”
"I’m very proud of ‘Surrender’. The lyrics and the people I worked on it with all make it a very personal song for me. It took me a long time to release so I’m so excited to finally have it out in the world and share it with people. The song started out as a much longer ballad with much more lyrical content but when we got into the studio, things just moved in a different direction and I had to adjust the song in the moment for it to become what it is now."
‘Surrender’ will form part of Stone’s debut EP which is due to be released next year and is inspired by the early stages of love and relationships. Stone may have been away for a number of years, but her new music is shaping up to be some of the best of her career and she is one artist to certainly keep an eye on over the next 12 months.
