Sydney based electronic-R&B artist Sam J today premieres the lyric video for her latest single ‘Friends’ exclusively here on Women In Pop.
The first new music from Sam since 2017’s EP Worth My Weight, ‘Friends’ is a gorgeous chilled out track with echoes of Aluna George, H.E.R., Dua Lipa and Selena Gomez. The song tells a story familiar to most - unrequited love: “You just wanna be friends / You don’t me for your lover.” It is a track we know you will, perhaps ironically, fall in love with.
‘Friends’ will be released across all platforms, including Apple Music, iTunes and Spotify, on March 8 but until then you can listen and watch exclusively below.
