Nectar Woode releases new single 'Lose' and announces her EP 'it's like i never left' will be out 18 July

Rising British-Ghanian soul-R&B-pop singer Nectar Woode has released her new single ‘Lose’ and announced her new EP it’s like i never left will be released on 18 July.

‘Lose’ is a soulful groove of a track with a hypnotic soundscape and vocal performance from Woode that feels warmly familiar and also boldly adventurous and left of field.

One of many songs that was born from a visit to her father’s homeland of Ghana, ‘Lose’ reflects the past but also looks to a more confident future, encouraging us to let go of our fears and inhibitions and embrace positivity and life. ‘Why you so shy / When nobody cares / Life ain't fair / But you already there,’ Woode sings.

“I wanted the world to meet right in the middle, super care-free,” Woode said of the dual messages of past and future in the song.

The music video for ‘Lose’ is also out now and was shot on her first ever visit to Ghana earlier this year.

‘Lose’ will feature on Woode’s new EP it’s like I never left which will be released in 18 July. Featuring six tracks, the collection is both a study and celebration of her family and dual-heritage and features production from acclaimed New Zealand-Australian artist Jordan Rakei. The EP will also feature recent single ‘Only Happen’.
