Exclusive video premiere: Melanie Dyer's new single 'Run Out Of Road'

Australia’s Melanie Dyer releases her new single ‘Run Out Of Road’ on Friday and today you can watch the video exclusively here on Women In Pop.

Her first release since signing with ABC Music, ‘Run Out Of Road’ is a breezy, loveable, addictive track in Dyer’s unmistakable country-pop style and is perfect for upcoming summer road trips.

“I wrote ‘Run Out Of Road’ during my last trip to the USA in February 2020 just weeks before COVID hit Australia and they stopped all International flights,” Dyer says of the song’s background. “I've been so lucky to travel from Gold Coast to California, New Zealand to Memphis and everywhere in between for music. When the world came to a halt in 2020, this song took on a whole new meaning. This song is a reminder that life is fleeting and moments are precious. Take every chance to wander, fall in love and enjoy the ride because we all know how quickly it can be taken away.”

Directed by Jeremy Dylan, the music video shows Dyer on a road trip with friends, ending up at a beach at sunset where love blossoms. The video is the perfect accompaniment to the lyrics - “We can find a little place where nobody else knows / And run till we run out of road” - and features a red Mustang to die for.

Dyer first burst on the music scene in 2015 with her debut EP Lifetime and has since released a debut album Fresh and a raft of singles which have successfully mixed country and pop, earning her an APRA nomination and achieved multiple number ones across country radio charts. With a pile of new music created over Zoom during lockdown just waiting for release, this new era of Melanie Dyer is shaping up to be her most exciting yet and we can’t wait to hear more.
