Zoe A'dore drops sparkling synth pop gem 'Read'

Melbourne independent singer-songwriter Zoe A’Dore today releases her new single, ‘Read’, her first new music since 2020.

Produced and co-written with Kyran Daniel (Gretta Ray, G Flip, Lakyn), the track is a glorious blend of synth pop and dance, with a perfectly formed pop structure. The beats slowly build up through the verses before the chorus bursts in with delicious melodies over an addictive, intriguing electronic soundscape.

Lyrically, the song deals with the perils of online dating - the mixed messages, gaslighting and outright lies that go along with it. “So why can’t you tell me / That I ain’t the only? / That’s why I left you on read,” she sings.

"Dating apps can be weird and take a blow to your self esteem, especially when they're used inappropriately," A’Dore says. "You want to set clear intentions from the get go and hope that the person you're dating is doing the same."

A’Dore has been releasing music since 2016 when she was the featured vocalist on the Camikaze track ‘Shadows’. Her 2018 collaboration with Staygo ‘Bury It’ has accumulated over 2 million streams on Spotify to date and in 2019 A’Dore released her first debut solo single ‘Galaxy’, a lush downtempo electro track. Straddling the line between synthpop and electronica, A’Dore creates music that combines the pure joy of pop with insightful, relatable lyrics. Her return with new music is an extremely welcome event and with a track as strong as ‘Read’ we can’t wait to hear more of her music throughout 2022.

‘Read’ is out now. You can stream here.
