Tove Lo returns with new single 'No One Dies From Love'

Sweden’s Tove Lo today returns with her stunning new single ‘No One Dies From Love’. It is the first release from her upcoming new album and also marks the launch of her own record label Pretty Swede Records with mtheory.

Written with Ludvig Söderberg, ‘No One Dies From Love’ is a breathtaking swirl of synths and disco dance pop with a core of melancholy embedded in the lyrics and melodies in a way only the Swedes can. ‘No one dies from love / Guess I’ll be the first’ Lo sings.

“When you’re with someone for a long time and it ends all of all sudden, it’s like a part of you has died,” Lo says. “This person is now a stranger to you. All of the memories are tainted. For the first part of the breakup, you believe you’re not supposed to feel good about anything you had together. What I believe I do best is ‘heartbreak you can dance to.’ The song is that.”

Also released today is the official music video, directed by Brazilian duo Alaska and filmed in Mexico City. “All the songs on the album are very cinematic, dramatic and grand, so for the visual story I want to attach a character to each song,” Lo says. “For ‘No One Dies From Love’ it's the classic vulnerable, lonely starlet looking for connection. This mini movie is a different kind of love story.”

Lo also announces today that she will be touring Australia in September and October this year as part of the Listen Out dance music festival.

Making music since 2006, Lo has been one of the coolest and most acclaimed artists to emerge from Sweden in the past decade. Scoring a massive global hit in 2013 with ‘Habits (Stay High)’, she has gone on to release multiple hit albums and built up a reputation for being one of the loudest voices for feminism in the music industry, always pushing her femininity to the forefront such as on her albums Lady Wood and Blue Lips. With more new music due soon, based on ‘No One Dies From Love' it looks set to be her best yet.
