Quinn Karter launches new single 'Bondi'

Sydney producer, performer and songwriter Quinn Karter has released her new single ‘Bondi’.

A squelching, electronic jam it has a moody, dark soundscape that mirrors the lyrics that reflect on the two sides of famous Sydney locale Bondi - beautiful and sunny on the surface but with a sinister underbelly. “It’s nothing like I thought it was…Guy downstairs keeps hitting on my friends / There’s a girl doing lines at the bathroom sink.” Its downbeat feel is supplemented with some truly beautiful melodies in the pre-chorus.

Karter says she was inspired by “the juxtaposition of perception and darker realities” when creating the song, with the aim to transcend genre. It emerged organically and Karter completed in the song in a matter of hours.

Raised by multi-instrumentalist parents, Karter starting playing piano at age two and she was awakened to the world of electronic music when her mother started studying a master's degree in music technology and started using production software Logic. After studying Electronic Music Production at SAE, she was signed to Australian producer ShockOne’s label Dark Machine Records with her debut single ‘Moshi Moshi’ released in 2020. She has since released six more singles .

Karter is a shining light in the Australian electronic-club music scene and one of the country’s most promising young producers. She has everything it takes to continue making bigger and bigger splashes in the music world, and is an artist to have on your playlist right now.

‘Bondi’ is out now via October Record. You can download and stream here.
