Mia Rodriguez returns with new single 'Poison Ivy'

Australian rising star Mia Rodriguez has returned with her new single ‘Poison Ivy’, her first new music of 2025.

An intoxicating rush of electro-synth-pop ‘Poison Ivy’ combines infectious beats with delicious melodies and a multi-layered structure that brings new sonic thrills at every turn. The extended synth closer is heavenly and ensures you stay glued to the song until the very last note.

The lyrics are a friendly, but ruthless, warning to other women about the deception of Rodriguez’s ex: ‘Quit falling for his bedroom eyes….Watch out cause he's poison ivy / He got red flags all over his body / He's a cheating lying son of a bitch,’ she sings.

Rodriguez has been a star on the rise since she released her debut single in 2019, ‘Emotion’. The following year her single ‘Psycho’ went viral and became a massive hit, to date accumulating over 56 million global streams. In 2020, she was nominated for Triple J’s Unearthed Artist of the Year and has secured support slots with artists including Oliver Tree, Thomas Headon, and Lime Cordiale.
