Kate Ceberano announces her 30th album 'My Life Is A Symphony' will be released May 12

Australian pop icon Kate Ceberano has announced her 30th album My Life Is A Symphony, a collaboration with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, will be released on May 12.
The album features reimagined versions of ten tracks from Ceberano’s four decade back catalogue, including her iconic hits ‘Pash’ and ‘Brave’, with all tracks being either written or co-written by Ceberano. All tracks have dramatic orchestral arrangements courtesy of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
"This album was conceived and the orchestra recorded in the last months before the Covid ‘blackout’!” Ceberano says. “After several years of waiting to complete it, when I finally got to return to the project and record the vocals it was a very emotional experience for me…back in a studio where I had recorded Brave 35 years before - and with my daughter now singing BV’s. I never wanted to take any thing for granted again. I was more committed, bolder, and more willing to back my stories and songwriting. The power of the orchestra, the arrangements by my talented friend Roscoe have given new life to songs that together we cherrypicked from my albums over the years. Songs that are meaningful to me, earmarking personal memories and travelling with me across four decades."
The lead single ‘Pash’ is out now, a vibrant, soaring version of her 1997 top 10 smash hit, and in March Ceberano will begin a national tour with state orchestras celebrating the release of the album and her 40 years in pop, jazz and rock.
Ever since she came to national attention as the lead singer of ground breaking Australian pop band I’m Talking, Ceberano has become one of Australia’s all time greatest singers. Launching her solo career in 1989 with the single ‘Bedroom Eyes’, which peaked at number 2 on the Australian singles chart, and her debut album Brave, she has gone on to score 10 top 10 singles, 11 platinum albums and 4 ARIA Awards from 19 nominations.
One of the greatest voices Australia has ever produced, any new music from Ceberano is a joy to inhabit and teaming her voice with an orchestra is guaranteed to produce pure musical magic. My Life Is A Symphony is a fitting celebration of Ceberano’s unparalleled contribution to Australian popular music and is destined to be a highlight of 2023.
