Shakira releases 2026 FIFA World Cup official song 'Dai Dai'

Colombian superstar Shakira has released the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ‘Dai Dai’ which features Nigerian artist Burna Boy.

Written by Shakira and Burna Boy with Ed Sheeran amongst others, the song brings together the sound of both Shakira and Burna Boy, with afrobeats, Latin pop and funk merging to create a song of joy and strength, and a celebration of the hard work that goes into achieving your goals: ‘Now you got to believe / Cause you know what it takes / To be living my dream / At the top of your game’.

'Dai Dai' will also be the official anthem of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise USD $100 million by end of the FIFA World Cup 2026 to provide children around the world with access to quality education and sports.

Alongside releasing the official song, Shakira will also co-headline the first ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show on 19 July alongside Madonna and BTS.

It is another landmark moment for Shakira, after an already monumental 2026. Earlier this month she performed to an audience of more than 2 million fans at Copacabana Beach for this year’s Todo Mundo No Rio concert in Brazil, known as the largest concert in the world. She also teamed up with Zara Larsson on the song ‘Eurosummer’, featured on Larsson’s expanded deluxe album Midnight Sun: Girls Trip, and her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour was named the highest-grossing Hispanic tour of all time by Billboard, with a gross revenue of $421.6 million.

An recording artist since she was aged 14, Shakira has become the most-viewed female Latin artist, and one of the top-10 artists of all time on YouTube with over 27 billion cumulative views, and the most-streamed female Latin artist of all time on Spotify. ‘Dai Dai’ continues her legendary journey of bringing Latin pop to the world.
