Natalie Imbruglia releases new single 'On My Way'

Natalie Imbruglia today releases her new single ‘On My Way’, the third taste of her upcoming sixth studio album Firebird.

Written with her frequent collaborator Eg White, ‘On My Way’ is a glorious, swinging pop track which has splashes of country, soul and guitar pop with more than a handful of sublime melodies that wrap themselves around you and don’t let go. “'On My Way’ is one of my favourite tracks from Firebird and was co-written with the incredible Eg White,” Imbruglia says. “It's a song about being in flow! Those mornings you wake up and feel invincible. It’s a summertime, roof down track that I can’t wait to perform live”

Firebird, which is released on September 24 via BMG and Imbruglia’s first album in six years, was written in a variety of different international locations from Nashville to Byron Bay, yet was produced in its entirety at Imbruglia’s UK home during lockdown. Touching on themes of independence, vulnerability, the juxtaposition of strength and fragility, Firebird is first and foremost about Imbruglia’s newfound sense of confidence. “I’m just so deeply proud of this album,” she says.

Judging by the album’s first three singles, the empowering ‘Build It Better’, the upbeat synth-electro tinged ‘Maybe It’s Great’ and now ‘On My Way’, Firebird promises to one of the great albums of 2021.
