Melanie C releases new single 'Undefeated Champion' and announces world tour

Global icon Melanie C (Melanie Chisholm) has released the new single ‘Undefeated Champion’, the latest single from her upcoming ninth studio solo album Sweat, out 1 May.
A powerful, uplifting anthem about never giving up, despite how many times you are knocked down, it continues the joyous, dancefloor vibes of her previous two singles ‘Sweat’ and ‘What Could Possibly Go Wrong?’ with a healthy dose of 1990s trance and trip hop mixed with 2000s dance pop.
“‘Undefeated Champion’ is about getting knocked down and choosing to rise every single time,” Chisholm says. “It’s a reminder that the hardest moments are the ones that make us stronger. It’s faith over fear, joy in the face of adversity - almost challenging the universe: ‘come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough!’ At its core, it’s about realising we’re far more resilient than we think.”
Off the back of the release of the new single, Chisholm has announced she will be launching a headline world tour in September. Starting in Canada on 8 September, the tour will travel through the US, the UK, Europe and Japan before wrapping up with four shows in Australia in November. Presale tickets will be available from 18 March, with general public tickets on sale from 20 March here.
The tour will celebrate her legendary 30 year career, from the Spice Girls through to Sweat. Recorded across London, Stockholm and Los Angeles, the new album sees Chisholm return to the dancefloor, a scene that was her earliest influence in music. Uniting every part of Chisholm’s story - athlete, pop icon, DJ - it is the end result of Chisholm finding peace within herself. “I’ve done a lot of soul-searching, now I just want to have some fun and get people dancing again,” Chisholm says. “Music gets me through tough moments - I’m proud to bring out a joyful record in a dark time.”
One of the most influential artists of her generation, Chisholm continues to raise the bar for what a contemporary pop artist is, and this new chapter in her career is proving to be her most inspiring and exciting yet.
