Jorja Smith releases new single 'I Lied, You Lied' ahead of third album 'What Are The Odds' dropping this Friday

The UK’s Jorja Smith has released her new single ‘I Lied, You Lied’ from her upcoming third album What Are The Odds, out this Friday.
Written by Smith with and produced by P2J and Marco Bernardis, ‘I Lied, You Lied’ is a hypnotic fusion of electronic pop, UK garage, jazz and reggae with piano and saxophone regularly breaking through the shuffling electronic beat. Smith sings of realising that even though it still has some good moments, a relationship has run its course and it is time to go. ‘I can’t keep this up…won't you just get over me? / The truth is you weren't hard to leave.’
‘I Lied, You Lied’ is the third taste from Smith’s upcoming third studio album, What Are The Odds, due for released this Friday 21 August. It follows ‘What’s Done Is Done’ and ‘Alive’, her collaboration with Wizkid. Featuring UK garage, grime, 2-Step, UK funky and house, the album expands Smith’s sound, while continuing the intimacy and honesty that has been the hallmarks of all her releases.
The album follows Smith’s recent run of special guest on all six of Harry Styles’ recent Mexico shows as part of his Together Together world tour, and on the same day the album drops Smith will co-headline the All Points East festival in London’s Victoria Park.
What Are The Odds arrives in a landmark year for Smith, marking ten years since the release of her debut single ‘Blue Lights’. The single peaked in the UK top 40 singles chart and earlier this year Smith released a new remix of the song to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Consistently one of the UK’s most compelling and creative young artists over the last decade, Smith continues to impress with every release, and this next era promises to be as exciting as ever.
