Yorke releases new single 'Treading Water'

Rising alt-pop singer Yorke (real name Grace Hughes) has today released her new single ‘Treading Water’. The follow up to last year’s ‘Thought I Could’, which has accumulated over 1 million streams, ‘Treading Water’ was co-written with Sam Burtt and produced by Andy Hopkins. A majestic, sweeping pop track with irresistible melodies and a intimate, at times emotional vocal performance from Yorke, the song details the struggles of pursuing a music career as well as holding onto your dreams. “I’m so glad I didn’t quit / When you said I shouldn’t take the risk” she sings. “It’s about feeling like yes [this career] is a struggle, both emotionally and financially, but I’m still doing what I love, and [knowing] I’m tenacious enough to get through it,” Yorke says.

‘Treading Water’ is out now via Island Records. You can download it from iTunes and stream on Apple Music and Spotify.

To keep up with all things Yorke, you can follow her on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
