Sweden’s Yarlie today launches her career with the release of her debut single ‘Wreck’. An addictive, electropop track with hints of synthpop and R&B - coupled with some killer melodies - the track is all encompassing with a sonic landscape that continually surprises and excites with hooks and effects coming at you from all angles.

Lyrically the song details the often disappointing gap between the heady rush of first infatuation and reality. “When the music’s on you hear what you want to hear / When the lights go out you see what you want to see…you’re wrecking it all” she sings. “You know those promises you give yourself? ‘I'm not gonna call’, ‘This time I mean it’, ‘Never again’ - those promises? ‘Wreck’ is a song about those promises, and the inability to keep them at 2 in the morning”, Yarlie says of the message behind the track.

Currently splitting her time between Stockholm and the north of Sweden, Yarlie says she is inspired by “dark club rooms and icy cold mornings”. Initially not a fan of the electronic music she now creates, Yarlie taught herself how to play the piano before becoming a full blooded electro and synthesiser devotee. While she says she is still working on refining and perfecting her craft. with a debut release this strong we can’t wait to hear the incredible music she will produce as she develops her craft further.

‘Wreck’ by Yarlie is out now. You can listen here.
