Australian country singer-songwriter Sara Berki today releases her latest single ‘Cowboys Do It Better’ which will feature on her upcoming EP In The Neon, which is due for release on 4 July.

A stirring, uplifting country-pop tune with a rousing beat and the perfect mix of traditional pop and country sounds, Berki sings the praises of cowboys, her diamonds in the rough: ‘Soft and lovin’ but hard as nails / This is what I know.’

“If you don’t have the pleasure of having a cowboy in your life then this song will paint the picture for you”, Berki says. “They can be a little cheeky and rough around the edges but there’s a good heart on the inside!”

The song follows February’s stirring ballad ‘Looks Like’, and last year’s toe-tapping, kiss off to an ex ‘Twice’. All three songs will feature on Berki’s new EP In The Neon due for release on 4 July, the first of two EPs planned for release in 2025. This five track EP was co-written with and produced by Liam Quinn (Peach PRC) and sees Berki emerge as a fully realised version of herself as an artist after years of treading a sonic path she felt she was expected to follow, not the one she wanted to. The EP showcases her gorgeous songwriting and vocals as well as her ability to blur the line between genres - never fully country, never fully pop but always memorable.

“The main goal of being an artist is that I want people to listen to my music and go, ‘that’s a Sara Berki song’, or ‘that's so Sara Berki’,” she says. “I also want them to feel something. I want to move people. I am proud that I can write a song that will make someone cry and then write a song that will make someone dance. The songs on In the Neon are my feel-good songs. They are festival songs, the ones that you love to sing along to.”

After releasing her first single in 2022, Berki has become a major force in the country music scene, achieving over 5 million audio streams and 7.5 million video streams. Last year her career went into overdrive, with performances at CMC Rocks, Ridin’ Hearts Festival and Groundwater Country Music Festival, while her performance of John Denver’s ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ at the opening game of the Brisbane Lions’ AFL season went viral, with 20 million views across all video platforms. She capped off the year by signing and releasing her first single with major label Warner Music.

Berki is a charismatic performer with a beautifully emotive voice and her music, whether it is a joyous banger or a heartfelt ballad, is at its core incredibly empowering for the listener. With a bounty of new music from Berki due this year, now is the right time in dive into her incredible soundscape.
