Australia’s Fleur De Mur releases her second single ‘Neither Am I’ tomorrow but today it premieres exclusively on Women In Pop.

The song is a glorious romp through disco, electropop and R&B with an addictive backbeat and a chorus that builds and builds into a swirly, whirlpool of delicious melodies, accompanied by a powerhouse vocal performance from De Mur.

“‘Neither Am I’ was born from an existential crisis I experienced where I questioned every detail of my perceived reality,” De Mur says. “I looked at someone I loved and was overcome with this deep sense of ‘oh you’re not really here. And if you’re not here then neither am I. And if I’m not here then none of this is real.’ I wanted to encapsulate this earth shattering, monumentally overwhelming sensation. ‘Neither Am I’ is an ode to that eerie feeling of looking at yourself in the mirror and wondering who the consciousness is watching the reflection. And whilst questioning life’s meaning feels like a deeply personal lonesome experience, it’s part of being human so this song yearns to share in that affinity.”

On just her second release, De Mur is proving to be an exceptionally confident and creative artist with a talent to create music that makes you move as well as sink into your heart. With the release of her debut EP Metamor-for-this in June and a national Australian tour to follow, 2022 is the year to pay attention to this incredible artist. ‘Neither Am I’ will be released tomorrow but for now listen to it exclusively here:

‘Neither Am I’ will be released on April 7. You can pre-save here.
