P!NK drops new single, protest anthem 'Irrelevant'

Superstar P!NK today returns with her first new music in over a year with the single ‘Irrelevant’, a protest anthem that is her response to the current social climate., particularly in her home country of the USA.

Co-written with and produced by Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maisie Peters) ‘Irrelevant’ is a visceral, angry and empowering rock-pop song which takes aim at the injustices faced by women in society as well as how the ignorance of a few can cause so much pain for many. “Girls just wanna have rights / So why do we have to fight?” she sings.

“As a woman with an opinion and the fearlessness to voice that opinion, it gets very tiring when the only retort is to tell me how irrelevant I am,” P!NK says. “I am relevant because I exist, and because I am a human being. No one is irrelevant. And no one can take away my voice.”

P!NK will donate her proceeds from the song to the nonpartisan voter advocacy organisation When We All Vote. Founded by Michelle Obama, the groups’s mission is to change the culture around the voting process, and increase participation in each election cycle by helping to close race and age gaps.

An artist who has been the voice of a generation, P!NK has never shied away from speaking up both through her music and a as citizen. ‘Irrelevant’ is a powerful, crucial and important listen that urges us all to stand up against injustice and to defend our human rights. A music video is coming soon, for now listen to this incredible track below.

‘Irrelevant’ is out now via RCA Records/Sony Music Entertainment Australia. You can download and stream here.
