Peach PRC releases beguiling new single 'Heavy'

Peach PRC today returns with the new single ‘Heavy’. It is a stunningly beautiful song which sees her explore a subdued, more acoustic vibe after the deliciously synth heavy bops ‘Josh’ and ‘Symptomatic’.

Set to a piano and gentle electro foundation, the song explores struggling with mental health and the subsequent ‘heavy’ feeling that brings: “it’s all I’ve been told / I’m heavy to hold…fix you is only pretty when its sung by Coldplay”.

The song was initially teased on TikTok and quickly exploded, with over half a million views, becoming her most requested song from her fan base.

Also released today is the emotive music video for ‘Heavy’, directed by Stephanie Jane Day (Sloan Peterson, Holly Throsby, Emma Russack) and shot on a Sydney beach. “The film embraces the more interior and vulnerable side of us all, the isolation of feeling like a difficult person and knowing that you have a lot to give despite it. Finding peace and acceptance in the things you don't have and can't control,” Day says. “I wanted to indulge on Peach's behalf and take all this to a place of peace and beauty. I wanted the film to complement the song - I wanted Peach to know that even though she feels heavy - she has everything she needs to soar”.

It has been an incredible 2021 for Peach PRC since she broke through in February with the single ‘Josh’, her first major label release after signing with Island Records in Australia and Republic Records in the US. The song climbed into the top 40 in Australia and to date has racked up over 11 million streams. She followed up with ‘Symptomatic’ in June which has accumulated over 2 million streams and recently released her cheeky Christmas single ‘I’ve Been Bad Santa’.

An incredibly talented musician that is able to create songs that are both joyful, carefree but with a deep, intelligent message at their heart, Peach PRC is proving with the release of ‘Heavy’ she has the diversity and flair to achieve even greater things in the coming years.
