Nardean returns with new single 'Hung Up'

Egyptian-Australian singer, songwriter and poet Nardean today releases her first brand new music since her EP THE NEW ERA arrived in May with single ‘Hung Up’.

Steadily building a reputation as one of Australia’s premiere hip-hop-rap artists over the last 12 months, ‘Hung Up’ sees Nardean move her sound sideways into a lush, mellow love song, while still retaining her signature R&B melodies and whipsmart raps. Dissecting love in a world dominated by coronavirus, Nardean looks inwards and honestly questions and appraises her thoughts, motives and reactions in a world turned upside down: ‘Do I really want to text you or is it just the apocalypse?’ she sings. "Love songs aren't really my forte, but when The Rona hit, I had a sudden urge to check on old lovers,” Nardean explains. “Maybe it was because during times like these, you realise that nothing really matters except love... or maybe it was just because I was lonely as hell. I couldn't figure out which one was true, and so I just wrote a song about it instead!”

Nardean never fails to impress with her music and is to be applauded for not only being one of Australia’s most unique new voices in music, but for always, uncompromisingly doing things her way and no-one else’s. ‘Hung Up’ is another high point in her career to date, and we recommend you take a listen now.
