Rising superstar Madison Beer today releases her greatly anticipated debut album Life Support. The album has been over two years in making with Beer pouring her heart and soul into the project since her signing to Epic Records in August 2018. Working with producers Big Taste (Dua Lipa, Mallrat, Justin Bieber) and One Love (Tate McRae, FLETCHER, Adam Lambert) the album showcases Beer’s remarkable musical versatility with a sonic landscape that merges grunge, R&B, and pop.

The inspiration for Life Support is the complex and emotional ups and downs that lead to a breakup. Beer co-wrote and co-produced the bulk of the album and was determined the album would be a true reflection of herself. “It's my story the way I want it to be told,” she says. “For me, that’s always hard, but I'm just really excited for people to hear my story through my eyes and through my lips. I’m very vulnerable, it’s a very honest and real album.”

Five tracks from the album have already dropped in the past 12 months, including the swaggering R&B, attitude laced ‘Good In Goodbye’ (‘you put the over the lover, put the ex in next’ Beer sings), the gorgeous, theatrical pop ballad ‘Selfish’ and the cinematic, majestic pop gem ‘Stained Glass’ (one of Women In Pop’s Top 50 tracks of 2020), which was inspired by a period in her career when Beer felt disrespected. “I wanted to make some sort of metaphor for the lyrics about how I feel I am perceived and how I feel I am wrongfully perceived and about how I want to be perceived,” she says. “That's a metaphor - stained glass - because I felt like I was being hated for the wrong reasons and I felt super alone. I just wanted to write a song explaining how my reality is from my eyes.”

Late last year, Beer released the single ‘BOYSHIT’, a driving, funk infused R&B-pop track which has already collected over 16 million global streams and features one of the best kiss-offs to an ex you are likely to hear: “I couldn't understand you if I tried / 'Cause I don't speak boyshit.”

Beer began her career recording and posting cover versions on YouTube when she was just 12, and became a global sensation in 2012 when Justin Bieber retweeted her version of Etta James’ ‘At Last’. Now 21, she has achieved a raft of remarkable achievements in the intervening years. Her 2018 independently released EP As She Pleases saw her become the first independent female solo artist to break into the US Top 20 radio charts and the same year saw her named one of Billboard’s 21 under 21 artists. To date her portfolio of music has collected over 1 billion streams. Outside of music she has also walked the catwalk for Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall show at Milan Fashion Week 2017 and last year she launched a collaboration with cosmetics brand Morphe.

With her stunning voice and ability to craft memorable, elevated pop that really connects with the listener, Madison Beer has the potential to be one of the great artists of this decade. Life Support is just the first in what is likely to be a number of stand out albums in her career.
