Kita Alexander launches new single ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Home’ ahead of her Press Pause Australian tour

ARIA nominated Kita Alexander has released her new single, the intoxicating pop anthem ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Home.’

With a seductive pop groove that brings in a guitar line that lends a smidge of an indiepop feel, the song embodies that feeling of not wanting to go home at the end of the night, trying to make every moment last while also being aware you will very soon be asked to leave. Whether it be a burgeoning romantic connection or a desire to just keep the fun rolling, it makes you remember every one of those emotions: ‘Keep you eyes on me / The party’s slowing down…Shake it for me before they shut it down / I don’t wanna go home yet baby’ Alexander sings.

“I wrote this song entirely for all my fans,” Alexander says. “When we’re at a show together and it’s the last song in the set and none of us want it to end.”

The single follows ‘Press Pause’, released in March, and drops just before Alexander launches her Australian Press Pause tour. Starting this Friday 11 July in Melbourne, she will then play shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide before finishing in Perth on 15 August.

This headline tour is the next highlight in a incredible year for Alexander, which saw her tour with global superstar Dua Lipa on her 10 date Radical Optimism Australian and New Zealand tour. After that tour, Alexander travelled to the UK to perform at The Great Escape festival as well as performing a sold out headline show in London. 

With over 300 million global streams to her name, Alexander has steadily become one of Australia’s premier pop artists. Her music is always brilliantly created pop that brims with gorgeous melodies and beats, but is never brash or over produced, with its strength lying in its subtleness and nuance. Joyous and vulnerable, empowering and raw, her songs always connect directly with your feels, and ‘I Don’t Wanna Go Home’ is another highlight in an incredible year for Alexander, that keeps on getting better.
