Ghanaian-Australian sibling duo Kinder (full name Savannah and Briony Osei) today release their new single ‘Keep Up’, which features on their upcoming new EP Akwaaba, due to be released November 11. The band will also be touring around Australia over the next two months.

The Osei sisters first broke into music when they became heavily immersed in the club scene, including DJ-ing at some of Sydney’s coolest venues, and ‘Keep Up’ sees them return to those club roots. With addictive electronic house-trance beats mixed with sweet pop melodies and a soundscape that sweeps you away in a wave of endorphins, it is a track that evokes crowded late night dance floors but also stands alone as a brilliant pop song to blast through your headphones at home.

“When we made ‘Keep Up’ it was the first time we had worked, in real life, face to face with people since the lockdown,” Kinder say on the creation of the song. “We made the record at Jono Ma’s studio in Byron Bay along with Jonti Danilewitz. They jammed out on their analogue synths whilst we came up with melodies. There were two ideas, we thought it was two different songs, so we came up with two very different melodies, but then somehow we magically pieced both sections together. These very contrasting verses and chorus ideas somehow blended together and it just worked. The process was very improvisational.”

‘Keep Up’ and Akwaaba follow on from Kinder’s debut EP Yenko released in May, which featured their singles ‘Come Along’ (featuring A Girl), ‘Bus Stop’ and ‘Rasta’ (featuring Gold Fang), accumulating over 5 million streams on Spotify alone. Mixing R&B, dance, techno, house, pop and their native Ghanian rhythms, Kinder create music that is not only truly unique, but brings you absolute joy. ‘Keep Up’ is one of their absolute best and is the perfect choice to soundtrack your summer.

‘Keep Up’ is out now via Warner Music Australia. You can buy and stream here.
