Australia’s Mizuki creates entrancing, heartfelt indie-electropop and today releases her second single ‘How Far We’ve Come’.

Following up her smooth, indie-folk-electro debut single ‘Over The Sun’, ‘How Far We’ve Come’ takes Mizuki further down the pop route, with an addictive, swinging beat and joyful melodies wrapped in a delicious, carefree summery mood. Although it questions the potential pitfalls growing up can bring - “will you still love me when I’m not at my best? / Will you still love me when I’m stuck in my head?” - it is the kind of music that makes you smile and brings instant joy.

"'How Far We've Come' is mostly about growth and about recognising how far you've come on your journey,” Mizuki says. “It's my reflection on the moments that have passed by and of the phases and different stages of life.”

Born and raised in Sydney to Japanese parents, Mizuki draws inspiration from both cultures and made her first steps towards a music career by posting covers and demos to her Instagram account. She sparked interest from her now management company ON3 and after moving to Melbourne begun her career in earnest.

"For me, I’ve always loved music but it didn’t seem like something that I could do. I didn’t have a lot of confidence and I didn’t know where to start,” she says. “After meeting the ON3 guys, it felt natural and exciting because the possibility and opportunity to do something I've always loved to do was right there in front of me!"

With music that chronicles her journey of self-discovery, there is a charm and a reliability to Mizuki’s music that is utterly beguiling. Only two singles in, she is proving she is a new talent that has huge potential and we can’t wait to hear more from her.

‘How Far We’ve Come’ is out now. You can download and stream here.
