Erin LeCount releases new single 'I Believe'

The terms ‘one to watch’ and ‘next big thing’ are thrown around with ease in the music industry, but when they are applied to UK singer-producer Erin LeCount, they just feel right.

With no formal music training, LeCount taught herself how to produce music at age 17 during covid lockdowns, using her garden shed as a studio. Still only 22, her music blends synth, trip-hop, indie and pop with soulful, emotive vocals and has a gravity and confidence to it that sets her apart from other artists of her age.

As well as being mesmerising on record, LeCount is also an incredible live act. An artist that writes and produces all her music, she carries this onto the stage as well, building the production around her songs solo live on stage.

Today LeCount releases her first music of 2026 with the single ‘I Believe’. First teased last year on social media and performed live on her La Lune UK and EU tour, ‘I Believe’ is LeCount at her most glorious: gospel, baroque, synthpop, haunting, empowering and life affirming, all at once.

Lyrically, LeCount sings of a sense of disillusionment and apathy, and the desperate, often fruitless drive to understand who we are coupled with the subsequent frustration of never being able to achieve perfection. “I’m living in a secular age looking for someone to blame / Looking for someone to love me…you self-inflict the pain / But guilt won’t make you clean again.”

“‘I Believe’ is a cynical, existential song about apathy, passiveness in your own life, disillusionment with the state of the world, what it feels like to turning to every possible external source to tell you how to feel and exist - religion, self help books, magazines, astrology, lovers, antidepressants,” LeCount says. “I wrote it about a pursuit of perfection, faith and meaning soundtracked to relentless synth pop production.”

After wrapping up her sold out La Lune Tour across the UK and Europe at the end of last year, LeCount will be taking the tour to North America in February. With all shows selling out in weeks, additional shows have now been added. All details and tickets can be found here.

Across the past three years that she has been releasing music, LeCount has already proven herself to be a remarkable artist, and with each new release she is showing she is becoming exceptional. Expect more big things from her in 2026, but for now sink into the full beauty of ‘I Believe’.

‘I Believe’ is out now via Atlantic Records. You can stream here.
