Ashe releases new single 'Shower With My Clothes On' and announces Australian & NZ tour in November

Californian-based rising superstar Ashe has released her new single ‘Shower With My Clothes On’. It is the latest taster from her second album Rae which will be released on October 16.

The track is a moving, vulnerable track that mixes subdued verses with powerful choruses, backed by guitars and drums that project a rock interspersed with country vibe. The soundscape grows until it becomes almost impenetrable with a wall of backing vocals and electronic swirls before dropping out to just Ashe’s vocal and an acoustic guitar.

“‘Shower With My Clothes On’ is what my head feels like when it’s spinning; out of control anxiety and the world feeling like it’s closing in on you,” Ashe says. “It’s about remembering those last few moments in a relationship when you’re hopelessly hanging on but know you have to let go.”

Ashe will be touring Australia and New Zealand in November on her Is It Me Or Is It Hot tour. Kicking off on in Auckland on November 4, she will then perform in Brisbane, Sydney before finishing the tour in Melbourne on November 9. Tickets are on sale now.

Ashe has become one of the biggest new talents in music over the past few years, accumulating 1.8 billion streams and 230 million video views since her first release in 2017. In 2019 she had a major breakthrough with the single ‘Moral of the Story’ after it appeared in the Netflix film To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You with its Spotify stream count currently sitting at over 426 million and ultimately earning her a Platinum record in the USA and a Silver record in the UK. A 2020 version of the track featuring Niall Horan has racked up close to 160 million streams.

Her 2021 debut album Ashlyn was critically acclaim and saw Ashe perform on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, American Idol and The Late Late Show with James Corden. Truly a future major star in the making, Ashe’s music has a timeless beauty to it, it speaks of an era, a sound, a feeling that is just out of reach and instead becomes folded into the here and now, imprinting itself in your mind until nothing else matters but her voice. On the strength of the four singles we have heard so far, Rae is shaping up to be as impressive as her debut album and is sure to be an end of year highlight.

‘Shower With My Clothes On’ is out now via Mom+Pop Music. You can download and stream here.

Rae will be released October 16. You can pre-order here.
