PREMIERE: Valentina Brave 'I Met A Man'

Women In Pop is proud to premiere today the debut single from Australian singer-songwriter Valentina Brave, ‘I Met A Man’.

A rollicking, vintage rock/soul track with hints of Betty Davis, the track is a war-cry against the status quo with Brave saying “I was angry when I wrote this song…I just knew that we had arrived at a place in time where mostly men were making all the decisions and that they were failing us all.”

‘I Met A Man’ has its heart in outback Australia, with the song written when Brave was living in a remote community in Arnhem Land. It was recorded in rural WA in producer and co-writer, ARIA Award nomiated Danielle Caruana’s (aka Mama Kin) home studio in Margaret River and features some very DIY moments - the crashes and bangs you hear on the track were created by smackin blocks of wood on corrugated iron and a kitchen sink!

Brave is due to release her debut EP Wildflower next year. Until then, take a listen to ‘I Met A Man’ below and stay tuned - this is one new talent you are going to hear a lot more of next year.
